Session 1: Serving the public, protecting people
Enforcement Excellence 2025 will discuss how local authorities, their private sector partners, the police and government agencies can work together to deter antisocial and criminal behaviour on roads, streets and the urban realm.

Welcome
Gavin Manger, strategic partnership manager, Landor LINKS

Tackling antisocial off-airport parking
As airports seek to better manage parking, neighbouring communities can find their streets choked by cab drivers waiting for fares or resting, others seeking to avoid charges, or cars abandoned on public roads by rogue 'meet & greet' operators. Solving these issues requires airports, local authorities, the police and other stakeholders to work together, providing solutions such as taxi waiting areas, licensing off-airport parking and focussed enforcement where needed.
-
Anthony Smith, independent chair, Heathrow Area Transport Forum

‘Carspreading’: Can oversize cars be cut down to size?
Large cars such as SUVs take up a great deal of road and kerb space, adding to traffic congestion and posing a threat to vulnerable road users and pedestrians. The SUV Alliance is calling for parking charges and taxes to be revised in order to discourage the use of oversized vehicles in urban centres.
-
James Ward, counter greenwash campaigner, Adfree Cities on behalf of The SUV Alliance

Delivering safer streets for all
A look at how multi-agency approaches offer a way of tackling dangerous driving and antisocial parking in urban areas. Combining police, local authority and specialist contractor resources enables the identifying of persistent evaders and the removal of nuisance and illegal vehicles from the road.
